How would you have known that, out of curiosity?

I would ask. :P With no more rez available, I would be able to ask the dead without worrying about revealing too much.

Weee - Replacement was confusing for me this game because both Franc and Rany jumped back in when I mentioned replacement to them. I would like to see a minimum contributing post count per day incentive like NPM has done in the past, but it's a nightmare to implement. If I try it again, it will probably be something like required participation to use powers, and required power use every 72 hours to avoid replacement/death.

Thank you, everyone, for playing. I was really hyped to run this one after all the time I put into it, and I'm very happy to hear from those of you who enjoyed it.

Sorry, I haven't thrown some input in. I've been at a play compitition fest thing.

@Sinical I was the dreamer. An odd night dreamer. I missed the list for night 1. Because I'm dumb.

As far as the getting lynched thing goes, I knew if I had revealed on thread, I would get murdered. I just hadn't planned on the people that I had claimed to to vote me. Voce at one point was in the clear. So she knew everything about me. And I'm assuming Cel had been told, also. Maybe not though. Steev knew a little about me as well.

I just didn't know who I could trust. At one point, I was about to claim everything to you, Sinical. But I knew that at any point, any of you could become redjac.

I think that's what they call a "sticky wicket."

@InuyashaOhki Thanks for the game. It was very interesting and I had a lot of fun. I think the mechanics deepened the idea of not knowing who to trust. It was pretty intense.

Well, to be perfectly honest I didn't need you to claim to me. I thought it more than obvious you was the dreamer. I only got confused when everyone voted you without even really considering it. I wanted to push execution on you but thought there'd be some understandable backlash to the idea...but nope. It just happened anyway.

I think I was in a corner that I wasn't capable of getting out of. Maybe a more seasoned player could have. But, they probably wouldn't have been in that position to begin with.

Okay, so for future reference something along the lines of the following (but worded nicer) would have normally worked.

"I'm the dreamer. I can dream tonight and announce results tomorrow. Execute me tomorrow if you want, but when I die innocent you will at least have a bit more information to work with".

That was what I was honestly planning on happening and I had the counter argument ready that redjac would just kill whoever you announced as innocent so keeping you alive would be pointless.

If both happened I'm not sure which way it would have swung, probably still towards you getting executed. But if I wasn't in the game, that defence would most likely work. And even with me in the game you'd have caused me to push for execution on you much more vocally, putting more suspicion on me when it turns out wrong, which may have just been enough to tip the very close following executions away from my favour.

...I hope that was logic that is followable. I tend to be bad at explaining my thought process. But I guess the basic gist of it is that actions you take will have several levels of consequences. Even if you don't think you can achieve your main goal (survival in this case) by defending yourself, you could at least subtly influence game actions in your favour.

Ah, I knew I'd overlooked a question. Zilary was the other dreamer (even nights). I guess I should list off who had what like a good MC.

Voce Angeli    Admiral - Treaty code holder, could submit codes, had Personal Treaty Restriction requiring Federation to be allowed cloaking technology. Code "Wolf 359".
Shattered Rift    Federatuon Ambassador - Treaty code holder, knew Rany was his counterpart, had Personal Treaty Restriction requiring Federation to gain control of Sectors 113 and 114. Code "Algernon IV".
Weee    Captain - Total execution control for one night. Hidden: Would roll dice if used at the same time as Liz used hers, with the loser being told another signal prevented her power use that night and to try again later.
Zillary    Chief Engineer - Even night dreamer, scanned solely for whether or not someone hosted the Redjac entity.
Rexozord    First Officer - If the treaty failed (announced publicly) and there were 2 or less Romulans left, gained the ability to activate the Romulan ship's self destruct. This was to be processed as the last Vigilante attack and did not require Rexozord to be alive. Hidden: If treaty succeeds, gains a direct communication line with Red, which would reveal if Red is taken over.
thezodiac    Chief Medical Officer - Could rez 1 Federation and 1 Romulan. Hidden: Rezzing a Romulan subtracted 1 from the count of Romulans killed by Federation.
Trajectory    Ship's Counselor - Redjac entity. List of 4 to kill each night, list of 4 to heir to. Knew thelilbear released him and was on his side.
Lieutenant-colonel Franc    Tactical Officer -  Protector role. Sent a squad of guards to protect the target, who would be immune to attacks for 24 hours. Targets informed of the protection.
Blacjak    Section 31 Operative - List of 4 to be interrogated & killed. Gained info from the interrogation: Always - role info; If applicable - "fear" if Redjac was on their ship; Once - if thelilbear was killed, learned her team's nature.

Celairiel    Senior Peacemaker - Could self-rez 2 times by submitting power use (allowing the delayed rez). Day power of being able to convince 1 player to compromise on phased cloaking technology (resolving Voce Angeli / Sinical Personal Treaty Restrictions). Day power of being able to convince 1 player to compromise one sector (resolving Shattered Rift / Rany Personal Treaty Restrictions).

Sinical    Commander - Treaty code holder, could submit codes, had Personal Treaty Restriction requiring Federation to be disallowed cloaking technology. Code "Tomed Rests"
Liz    Subcommander - Total execution control for one night. Hidden: Would roll dice if used at the same time as Weee used hers, with the loser being told another signal prevented her power use that night and to try again later.
Rany    Romulan Ambassador - Treaty code holder, knew Shattered Rift was her counterpart, had Personal Treaty Restriction requiring Romulan Empire keep control of Sectors 113 and 114. Code "Jolan Tru"
Lion Wiggles    Science Officer - Odd night dreamer, scanned solely for whether or not someone hosted the Redjac entity.
Red    Senior Bridge Officer - If the treaty failed (announced publicly) and there were 2 or less Federation members left, gained the ability to activate the Federation ship's self destruct. This was to be processed as the last Vigilante attack and did not require Red to be alive. Hidden: If treaty succeeds, gains a direct communication line with Rexozord, which would reveal if Rexozord is taken over.
RocktheFox    Romulan Doctor - Could rez 1 Romulan and 1 Federation. Hidden: Rezzing a Federation subtracted 1 from the count of Federation killed by Romulans.
thelilbear    Romulan Engineer - 1-use daykill, could not be named as an heir. Hidden: If interrogated, told the name of Redjac, that she was his teammate, and the team's killing nature.
Spiritbox    Weapons Officer - Protector role. Sent a squad of guards to protect the target, who would be immune to attacks for 24 hours. Targets informed of the protection.
Steev    Tal Shiar Operative - List of 4 to be interrogated & killed. Gained info from the interrogation: Always - role info; If applicable - "fear" if Redjac was on their ship; Once - if thelilbear was killed, learned her team's nature.

Not intended as relevant to gameplay, but I threw in some role names where possible: Traj pointed out that having to answer to Hengist might give him away and that he'd have to come up with a fake identity, so I gave him a couple suggestions for alternate names to use because I promised the game wouldn't require knowledge of the series.

Admiral Beratis, not related to, but similarly named to one of Redjac's aliases: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Redjac
Ambassador Tark, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Tark
Captain Jaris, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Jaris
Lieutenant Preston, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Peter_Preston (Peter was the nephew of Montgomery Scott, aka "Scotty". Scotty was framed by the Redjac entity in the Original Series episode "Wolf in the Fold".)
Commander Tankris, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Tankris
Doctor Tracy, descendant of the nephew of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Karen_Tracy
Counselor Hengist, reanimation of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Hengist
Lieutenant Morla, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Morla
Lieutenant Smith, a fictional name you use as cover. Section 31 is a secret human organization that sees themselves as protecting the Federation through illegal methods.

Trefayne - http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Trefayne

(Not used Organians: Claymare - http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Claymare & Ayelborne - http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Ayelborne )

Commander Tal, son of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Tal
Subcommander Decius, descendant of: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Decius
Ambassador V'ress (not based on an existing character)
Uvara (not based on an existing character)
Centurion Agoras (not based on an existing character)
Doctor Toklak (not based on an existing character)
Technician Varak (not based on an existing character)
Centurion Hiyal (not based on an existing character)
Centurion Karal, a fictional name you use as a cover. The Tal Shiar is a secret Romulan organization that acts as a secret police and intelligence force, reminiscent of the KGB.

I'm a bit surprised by the number of swings included in the game: Rex and Red learning each others' identities if the Treaty failed, and the result of either Team Vigi killing thelilbear.

I really like the "fear" aspect, though.

They each were designed with death math in mind which was a lot of what I spent so much time on. Many of my games I've been frustrated with the realization that once specific sets of players died, it left a team in a serious lurch. I wanted to make sure that whenever something happened, there was a large enough result to feel like a worthwhile accomplishment to the player who pulled it off, but coupled with circumstances that made it only drive the game in the direction it was already heading. It is, though, the part I was most nervous about this game, structure-wise.

By the time the treaty passed, if both were alive to make it relevant, it meant a lot of other important powers were gone. By the time the treaty could be declared dead and a faction was down to 2, they would be obvious targets anyway (better to try for Redjac in the opposing faction, and factions would already have likely self-identified during peace attempts). Thelilbear was intended as a mole with the dream result of not being Redjac, which tends not to be a long-lived role.

@Rexozord... Those posts you quoted me on were only when I had you on my suspects list. Voce gave me some info that completely confused me at one point, hence the retraction of my vote on you... You omitted my later post where I called you out on your post content on the day you became Redjac, and that was the first day when I became real suspicious of you, whereas before, my vote on you was merely a random choice from a list of potential suspects I had!!

For me, your behaviour was highly suspicious that day so I stand my assertion that you slipped.
